Located on a peninsula in southern Sri Lanka, Dickwella Resort and Spa features views of the Indian Ocean. It offers water sports equipment, yoga classes and early morning fishing trips.

Dickwella Resort and Spa is within walking distance of Dickwella Beach. It is 8 km from the Hummanaya Blow Hole. Bandaranaike International Airport is 210 km away.

The dive centre provides courses for beginners, as well as diving trips for the more experienced. Dickwella offers water sports like windsurfing and canoeing. Other recreational facilities include a saltwater pool and a tennis court.

Good secluded compound. Well guarded from annoying beach sellers. Poor restaurant service, small portions (protein) and

The hotel is situated in a perfect spot, right between two lagoons. This provides a perfect opportunity to enjoy your stay and alternate between two different beaches. Another great advantage related to hotel location and set up is a secured perimeter. They have fence all around their territory (no barbed wire but just more like a visual separation of territory), as well as security personnel who makes sure no beach boys or annoying beach entrepreneurs will bother guests during their stay.

The restaurant. The biggest disappointment is the restoration. Staff is not really qualified for the job, many times I have asked for glasses for water to be served during linch/dinner time. The variety and quality of food offered is also far behind the rest of the hotel. I would recommend to the management to hire a good chef to organize and take over control over the restaurant. We ended up going out for lunch (lunch was not included in our booking). Luckily there is a good competition around the hotel with much better chefs.

A lovely short stay where our family could relax and enjoy the facilities together

We really enjoyed the pool, table tennis, and location (close to beach). All the staff we encountered were brilliant - special mention to the lovely diving instructor, Dadisan and his friendly team in the restaurant, and the brilliant animator (Ajanti, apologies if spelling is incorrect) who led Aqua-fitness sessions, and the lovely pool attendant / sports facilitator (he is 21yrs old, didn't get his name) - both of these sports/animation staff were enthusiastic, kind, fun and encouraging, and an asset to the venue.

Some of the food wasn't up to the standard of other dishes - the freshly cooked food was lovely, and the main dishes too. The pre-prepared salads / desserts didn't reach the same standard. The setting of the restaurant is lovely, and I'm sure they could elevate the food to match.

Fantastic location which is the very best location in down south

Fantastic location, friendly and helpful staff. Everyone happy to full fill all the guest inquires from their end. The food is Delicious and varied buffet. we received well cleaned bigger room directly facing to beach. We enjoyed well in the swimming pool and evening entertainment was fantastic. Recommended this for any travelers to visit and enjoy with their families. Will return soon. Good luck

Exceptional

The location and hotel facilities are amazing. We stayed at the suite and it was the best room we have ever been to, with incredible seaview. Fully recommend this hotel if you are planning to go to Sri Lanka south beaches, it has a turtle view point just in the beach of the hotel and it is really close to Hiriketiya beach where you can surf and enjoy the cool vibes of that beach.

Good hotel but in need of refurbishment

The location is great - on a mini peninsula with sea views all round - and there are two decent beaches on either side. The pool is a good size. Our room was a great size and had good sea views. The bed was large and comfortable. The air conditioning worked well. We ate twice a la carte and twice from the buffet - each was good and the buffet was relatively good value for the selection available. The dining room terrace was great, with views over the rocks and out to sea. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and reception arranged a taxi for us to our next destination in Sri Lanka.

The room was dated and needed a refurbishment. The mosquito net covering the bed was full of large holes. Several windows in the room were extremely dirty (see picture). The minibar fridge had been turned off and left shut, and so it was mouldy and foul-smelling inside. The toilet seat was stained brown, and the toilet itself wobbled when you sat on it. The grouting around the shower was stained and mouldy. The curtains were stained and some of them were ripped/falling from the wall.

Definitely a place to return to over and over...

Amazing staff their attention to guests is thoughtful and genuine.

The restaurant isn't wheelchair accessible but the staff were amazing and carried my dad up anyway.

The swimming pool area.

The swimming pool area. Massages are very good. The views from the restaurant.

It is not a 4 star hotel, just a 3. The rooms are quite old and not very clean. You don't get what you pay for.

Location of the property and swimming pool.staff was very attentive and helpful.it was off season and there were very few guest but still they managed to put a buffet for us.

Some rooms are not maintained well example we have to move to a new room middle of night due to AC stopped working it was hectic with three kids.

A pleasant stay

Hidden on the bay, this resort has everything you expect to spend a relaxing time: large pool, restaurants, spa. The rooms are spacious, though it lacks of decoration. The hotel was very quiet, so we could enjoy all the facilities nearly for the 2 of us.

There is no sri-lankan option for breakfast, though we requested twice some "hoppers", we didn't get the chance to taste some during our stay. The location is nice but it is not in a touristic area.

A good place to be in tranquility..

Good & friendly staff.Especially @ the main restaurant.Most importantly the food was FANTASTIC & delicious.Beautiful location too.I do not have much to complain about the hotel.But there are areas that they could have improved as per my opinion..

Our room was not tidy enough.Looked like that the was arranged for us in a hurry that they have forgotten to clean properly.Especially the balcony was not clean enough.There was dust in large quantities visible on chairs etc.Also the tea,milk powder & coffee sachets were not enough at all for both of us.Even they were not provided enough on request.

Gracious hospitality and a family, inclusive feel.

Highly recommend this iconic, historic resort with access to two glorious beaches. All staff are first class, professional & attentive and genuinely friendly. Extended our stay, not only for the facilities, but the people. A must on your holiday itinerary- you won’t be sorry!

The service also very poor and not friendly.really disappointed

They didn't arranged the breakfast for us. They told breakfast not applicable for the room.

Room isn't in star level. That one is very old type. Dental kit,shower kit and any of kit aren't available and Only a soap available for the room. In my honeymoon I stayed in Mirissa Mandara Resort. it is only 10000 for halfboard. In Dickwella Resort they charged me 12000 for dinner and room.

Good experience for a relaxation!

Rooms were good and met our expectations. Expected a little bit of a bigger room for the price paid. However, outside view was just amazing in the morning (facing the sea) and the beaches, pool, roof top of the restaurant was amazing.

Nothing much to complain. Expected the staff to be more attentive and careful. Alacarte menu is a little expensive.
